Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Reconstructive Facial Surgery

Modern time has seen the desire to stay young and beautiful with a view to increase competitiveness in a commercial world and to increase the well being and level of confidence .Facial surgery is also used to create a normal appearance for patients who have facial cuts, disfiguring scars, accidental wounds, skin cancer or other defects. A variety of procedures are now available in the armamentarium of plastic surgeons which can be used depending on patient’s needs. Plastic surgeons take special care to ensure that resulting scars are small, thin and concealed in natural creases of the face. Recovery depending on extent of the procedure, usually takes between 1-3 weeks.

Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

This procedure rejuvenates the appearance of the face by tightening the skin and muscles of the face, chin & neck. Surgeon works through incisions hidden behind the hair line and in front of the ear, removes excess facial soft tissues and tightens muscles. Recovery occurs within 3-4 weeks. Facelifts may last up to 10 years.

Eye lids Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

This procedure corrects drooping eyelids or puffy bags below eyes. Surgeon removes excess fat, skin and muscle through small incisions hidden within the folds of eyelids. Patients usually return to work within 10 days. However swelling and bruising may take longer to subside completely. Results last for several years and may even be permanent.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

This procedure reshapes the nose so that it is in harmony with other facial features. The exact surgery depends on the requirements of the person. It may involve changing the size of the nose, removing a hump, changing the shape of the tip or bridge, narrowing the span of the nostrils or changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip. Majority of patients join work after two weeks. However, final result may be appreciated after 3 months or more.

Breast Enlargement (Augmentation Mammoplasty)

This procedure enhances the size and the shape of the breasts. Implants are positioned behind the breasts. Patient can choose between silicon gel implants and Saline implant . The incisions are placed either in the breast crease or in the area of the nipples. Women can return to work after two weeks. However, final result may be appreciated after 3 months or more. The results are permanent

Breast Reconstruction (Following Breast Removal)

This procedure creates a natural looking breast to replace the one that has been removed because of breast cancer. The breast is rebuilt using skin, fat and muscle from other parts of the body such as the back or abdomen. The nipples are reconstructed in a later procedure. Implant reconstruction can also be done. Recovery takes between 4-6 weeks. The results are permanent. It does not delay adjuvant therapy.

Liposuction

This procedure improves the contour of trunk, arms & legs. Surgeons suction exercise resistant pocket of fat from the body with a tube and a vacuum device. Most people are back to work within two weeks but need to avoid strenuous activity for about a month. The final result is appreciated once swelling subsides completely. It does not have any serious complication either at the time of surgery or later.

Abdominoplasty

This procedure flattens the abdomen by removal of excess fat & skin with tightening of muscles of abdominal wall. Surgeon removes excess skin & fat of lower abdomen & tightens the muscles. Scar is similar to a caesarian section scar and well hidden within the Pantry line. The recovery usually takes 4-6 weeks. Strenuous activity is avoided for 3 months. The results are permanent
