Critical Care Unit

A State-of-the-art Critical Care Unit at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital is equipped with 42 beds in ICU and 19 beds in HDU with advanced monitoring and life support systems for patients in critical condition and is supported by specially trained and efficient staff. Dharamshila Hospital is among the reputed hospitals of the country, which regularly follows the hospital acquired infection control protocols and antibiotic policies as laid down by the Hospital Infection Control Committee.

The Critical Care Unit at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital is fully equipped with following facilities to manage the critically ill patients: -

• Multiparameter monitors with facility for pulse rate, blood pressure, ECG, respiratory rate, Arterial oxygen saturation (SPO2) monitoring. Invasive pressures, end tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2) and temperature monitoring is also available.
• ICU Ventilators for respiratory support of critically ill patients.
• Availability of essentially required other equipment including syringe pumps, infusion pumps, laryngoscope, fiberoptic bronchoscope and defibrillator etc.
• The critical care team is well supported by round-the-clock Emergency services and Rapid Response teams. The team in turn supports the various specialties such as general surgery, oncology services, gastroenterology, gynaecology, internal medicine and nephrology etc.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Bronchoscopy

Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies are undertaken in the department’s dedicated Bronchoscopy suite with a state-of-the-art Video Bronchoscope.

Our expert pulmonologists perform advanced bronchoscopy techniques such as Foreign Body Removal, Trans-Bronchial Lymph Node Needle Aspiration, Bronchial Stents, Electrocautery for Endobronchial Lesions and Endobronchial Brachytherapy. Its services also include interventional procedures like thoracoscopy, chest drainage and Ultrasonography / CT guided lung & pleural biopsy etc.

Skin allergy testing, asthma education and counseling as well as treatments of all types of allergic respiratory disease are among the department’sother countless services. Advanced therapies like monoclonal antibodies (anti-IgE) are also offered.

Emergency & Rehabilitation Services

It also offers round-the-clock emergency care for Respiratory Failure, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumothorax, Chest Injuries etc.

A fully equipped, dedicated respiratory ICU, with advanced ventilators and BiPAP machines and trained nurses, manage critical patients with respiratory failure.

Specially trained respiratory physiotherapists work to rehabilitate patients with chronic pulmonary disease (COPD etc.).
