The Blood Bank at DHRC functions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide the patients who come to DHRC with good quality safe blood and blood components. The blood bank is licensed by the Drug Controller of India and Delhi, which means that it meets all stipulated  standards set by the national and international guidelines.

It is because of our capabilities in component making using the Cryofuge (cold centrifuge) that each unit of blood donated to the blood bank is utilized by many patients who receive not the whole blood but the component that they require. We have two Aphaeresis machines which provide single donor platelet preparations (SDPs) which in a cancer set-up like ours are required to support patients when their platelet counts drop. Whenever required granulocyte aphaeresis and stem cell separations can also be done.
