DEPARTMENT OF NURSING SERVICES

Department of Nursing Services is an integral part of Dharamshila Hospital and Research Centre. It caters to all OPD and IPD patients, requiring nursing care. The department has wards on II, III floors - Blocks A & B, Medical and Surgical ICUs, Labour room, Obstetrics OT, NICU and Dialysis Unit on I floor. Emergency room is located on ground floor - block B. Day care services with chemo preparation room are located on II floor - Block B.

Department has qualified and trained nurses supported by housekeeping staff.

Department is headed by the nursing superintendent, who ensures total quality management and complete customer satisfaction with the help of Dy. Nursing Supdt. And other staff nurses. The department has set up its own high standards in patient care and staff training. All clinical departments are anchored to the nursing services.

Aiming towards nursing excellence, the department of Nursing Services in DH&RC, provides dedicated service under control of Nursing Superintendent.

The Nurse is a loyal friend to the doctor and keeps pace with him: thus needs better education and best training in technical skills.

Quality service to patient remains her primary function; also taking care of patient's nutritional needs, protection and prevention of illness and avoid injury to patients. She is the co-ordinator to all ward activities. The nurse must be able to exert safety measures to prevent adverse and sentinel events to patients and occupational hazards the ward personnel.

The nurse are skilled, tactful, independent, tolerant and sensitive while dealing with patients and their family, doctors, paramedics and Housekeeping employees. She plays an important role in control of hospital infection, there being a dedicated Infection Control Nurse for Surveillance activities and other vital jobs.
