Pathology & Blood Bank

The department of Pathology and Blood Transfusion at DHRC has state-of-the-art equipment and experienced staff to provide high quality diagnostic services and therefore forms the back bone of cancer diagnosis and treatment. We aim to achieve complete cure or improved survival in cancer patients by early detection of cancer / pre-cancerous conditions and rigorous follow-up for assessing response to therapy.

The department has sections for Hematology, Biochemistry, Serology, Clinical Pathology and Microbiology investigations. It has a full-fledged Cytopathology and Histopathology facilities, including intraoperative diagnosis by frozen sections, Immunohistochemistry and Cytochemistry.

The blood transfusion section is a licensed self-sufficient Blood Bank with facilities for safe blood donation, blood component preparation including apheresis, single donor platelet preparation, storage and transfusion for supportive care of the patients.

The department is implementing NABH standard and ISO system, and is working towards CQI.
